8-Day Blog Post: Cycle 9 Ohio Moves To Ban Abortion After 6 Weeks of Pregnancy
On the Huffington Post, an article was published detailing the hearings in Ohio regarding abortion laws. Ohio wants to pass a bill within the state that makes it illegal to abort a baby after six weeks of pregnancy as the baby would have a heartbeat by then. The bill has moved to Governor John Kasich to decide, but it is a controversial topic, as it could put many physicians in jail and it is a heated debate topic. The article hardly addressed the point of view of women, and it didn't take into consideration victims of rape or unwanted pregnancy. This brings up the question of whether abortion laws should be handled on a state level, or on a national level. Governor John Kasich has not made a decision yet regarding the bill, but it will change the outcome of many physicians lives if he decides to pass the bill.
